Understanding Video Editor Error Messages

This guide explains common error messages you may encounter while using the Flickify Video Editor. For each error, you'll find an explanation of why it occurs and step-by-step solutions to resolve it.

Common Error Messages

RENDER_FAILED

Video rendering failed

Why This Happens

This typically occurs when the render process encounters an unexpected issue, such as a corrupted media file or a temporary server problem.

How to Fix It

  • Check that all media files in your project are valid and not corrupted
  • Try removing any recently added media and render again
  • Clear your browser cache and refresh the page
  • If the issue persists, try duplicating the project and rendering the copy
MEDIA_UPLOAD_FAILED

Failed to upload media file

Why This Happens

The file you're trying to upload may be too large, in an unsupported format, or there may be a network connectivity issue.

How to Fix It

  • Ensure your file is under the maximum size limit (500MB for video, 50MB for images)
  • Check that the file format is supported (MP4, MOV, JPG, PNG, GIF)
  • Verify your internet connection is stable
  • Try compressing the file before uploading
VOICE_GENERATION_FAILED

Failed to generate voiceover

Why This Happens

The AI voice service encountered an issue processing your narration text. This can happen with very long text blocks or special characters.

How to Fix It

  • Break up long narration text into smaller segments
  • Remove any special characters or emojis from the narration
  • Check that your text doesn't exceed 5,000 characters per slide
  • Try selecting a different narrator voice
AUTOMATCH_NO_RESULTS

No matching media found

Why This Happens

The Automatch feature couldn't find relevant visuals for your content. This may happen with very niche or specific topics.

How to Fix It

  • Try rephrasing your narration text with more common keywords
  • Manually search the stock library for related terms
  • Upload your own media that matches your content
  • Use the AI Image Generator to create custom visuals
PROJECT_SAVE_FAILED

Failed to save project

Why This Happens

Your project changes couldn't be saved, possibly due to a network issue or session timeout.

How to Fix It

  • Check your internet connection
  • Refresh the page and try saving again
  • If you have unsaved changes, copy your narration text before refreshing
  • Try logging out and back in if the issue persists
CREDIT_INSUFFICIENT

Insufficient credits

Why This Happens

Your account doesn't have enough credits to complete this action (rendering, voice generation, etc.).

How to Fix It

  • Check your current credit balance in Account Settings
  • Purchase additional credits or upgrade your plan
  • Review which actions consume credits in our pricing guide
DURATION_EXCEEDED

Video duration limit exceeded

Why This Happens

Your project exceeds the maximum video duration allowed on your current plan.

How to Fix It

  • Reduce the number of slides or shorten narration text
  • Split your content into multiple shorter videos
  • Upgrade to a higher plan for longer video limits
BROWSER_NOT_SUPPORTED

Browser not fully supported

Why This Happens

Some features may not work correctly in your current browser version.

How to Fix It

  • Update your browser to the latest version
  • Switch to Chrome, Firefox, or Edge for best compatibility
  • Disable browser extensions that may interfere with the editor
