Using Narration Text Blocks

Master the art of editing narration and timing it perfectly with your slides. Control pacing, emphasis, and flow to create professional-sounding videos.

How to Edit Narration Text

1

Select a Slide

Click on any slide in your project timeline to select it. The narration text block for that slide will appear in the editing panel on the right.

2

Edit the Narration Text

Click inside the narration text box to edit. Type or paste your script for that slide. The AI narrator will read exactly what you type.

Tips

  • Write naturally, as if you're speaking
  • Use punctuation to control pacing (periods create pauses)
  • Keep each slide's text focused on one main point
3

Preview the Narration

Click the 'Preview' or play button to hear how your narration sounds. This generates a quick audio preview without rendering the full video.

4

Adjust Timing and Pacing

Control how long the slide displays and how fast the narration is spoken:

Slide Duration

Set minimum time the slide stays on screen

Speech Rate

Adjust narrator speed (0.5x to 2x)

Pause After

Add silence after narration ends

5

Use Pronunciation Hints

For tricky words, brand names, or acronyms, use pronunciation hints to ensure correct reading.

GIFWrite 'jiff' or 'gift' depending on preferred pronunciation
SQLWrite 'sequel' or 'S-Q-L'
FlickifyAdd phonetic: 'Flick-ih-fy'
6

Split or Merge Slides

If narration is too long for one slide, split it into multiple slides. Or merge short slides for better flow.

Writing Tips for Better Narration

✂️

Keep It Concise

Aim for 30-50 words per slide. This keeps viewers engaged and allows time for visuals to register.

💬

Use Natural Language

Write how you speak, not how you write. Contractions and casual phrasing sound more natural.

⏸️

Control Pacing with Punctuation

Periods = long pause. Commas = short pause. Ellipses (...) = dramatic pause.

📝

Avoid Jargon

Unless your audience expects it, use plain language. The narrator handles complex words better with simpler alternatives.

Pronunciation Guide

Help the AI narrator pronounce tricky words correctly with these techniques:

Acronyms
Write 'NASA' as 'nassa' or 'N-A-S-A' for letter-by-letter
Numbers
Write '2024' as 'twenty twenty-four' or 'two thousand twenty-four'
Symbols
Write '$50' as 'fifty dollars', '@' as 'at'
Foreign Words
Use phonetic spelling: 'résumé' as 'rez-oo-may'
Brand Names
Test and adjust: 'Xiaomi' might need 'show-me'
